Byford "Nick" A. Carter
Byford "Nick" A. Carter, 86, of Marinette passed away October 15, 2018.
Born July 22, 1932 in Chicago, son of the late Essra and Maxine Carter, he served in the U.S. Army as a parachute Sergeant during the Korean War.
Byford was employed as yard master at the Northwestern Railroad in Chicago and in 2008 retired in Menominee, Michigan.
Byford is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lelonie Carter; his only child, Debra Thacker; Grandsons, William Partin of Chicago, Nicholas and Joseph Jasurda both of Menominee; Great-grandchildren, Collin and Riley Jasurda, and Carter, Colton and Cale Partin; Also survived by, a brother, Clark Carter and a sister, Ocletta Distasio
Along with his parents Byford was preceded in death by,3 brothers, William Carter, Erol Carter and Burt White.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Oct. 19th at St. Mary Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 10:00 am until time of Funeral Mass at 11:00 am with Father John Harper officiating. Burial will be in Cedar River Cemetery. Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
