Joan Gore, 88, formerly of Wheaton, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at  Rennes Healthcare Center East in Peshtigo Wisconsin after a long battle with Alzheimers. Joan was born on December 2, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Carl and Mildred (Suess) Kowsky.

Joan spent her early years growing up in Chicago then married the love of her life, John (Jack) Gore on May 26, 1951 in Elmhurst, Illinois. They moved to Glen Ellyn, Illinois in 1953 and together raised four children. Joan was a proud housewife and loving mother who taught her children many life skills such as cooking, sewing, home decorating, playing cards and games, travelling, finding the best deals when shopping, and always looking on the bright side of any situation.
Survivors include, her daughters Peggy (Jim) Barker, and their children, Joe (Julie Gniewek) Barker, and Amy (David) Smits, and Bonnie (Tim) DeHart and Tania ( Mike Robinson) DeHart, her daughter-in-law, Kendra Sterkel, and her great grandchildren, Jaysek, Emily, Micah, and Abby. She is further survived by her brother , Carl Kowsky of London, England, brother-in-law, Charles Kelly of Flushing, Michigan, sister-in-law, Renee Kowsky of Twin Lakes WI, and many nieces and nephews. Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, her sons, John Gore and Steven Gore, her sister, Shirley Kelly, and brother, Jay Kowsky.
There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held in late spring of 2018 in Wheaton Illinois.
