Lorraine A. Kahle, 88, of Peshtigo, went home to be with the Lord on November 3, 2018. She was born November 6, 1929, in Chicago, IL., daughter of the late William and Hazel (Burkhead) Hurson. Lorraine had four children with her first husband, Robert Norlander. She later married John Kahle of Tomahawk, WI. Lorraine spent most of her life caring for others: as a nursing assistant, home health aide, and daycare worker. At the age of 64, Lorraine earned an early childhood degree and taught for four years with her daughter, Nancy, at Pooh's Corner Daycare. Then she participated in the Grandparents' program in Menominee, MI. for several years.
Lorraine was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She had a passion for life and delighted in simple pleasures. She loved to read, travel, and cheer on the Cubs and her Chicago Bears. Lorraine gave tirelessly of herself and all who knew her will miss her beautiful smile, her contagious laughter, and her kindhearted spirit. She had the extraordinary gift of giving of herself to family and friends.
Lorraine is survived by, two sons, Stephen (Laurie) Norlander and David Norlander; two daughters, Diane (George) Soli and Nancy (Danny) Smith; her grandchildren, Justin (Jennifer) Norlander, Adam (JoLynn) Norlander, Cassie (Tom) LaTourneau, Jacob (special friend, Bret DeMille) Gerdt , Melody, Viola, Caleb and Lily Smith, Cori (Joe) Harrison and Lee Maree (Bryan) Schaeffer; her great-grandchildren, Chloe, Adrianna, Paige, Jasmine, Natalie, Taylor, Henry, and Rex; numerous nieces and nephews.
Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Robert Norlander, her second husband John Kahle; and a brother and sister-in-law, Thomas and Phyllis Hurson.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Saturday, Nov. 10, at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home, Peshtigo, with Pastor Archer Leupp officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm until the time of the service.
