Marshall G. Marquardt
Marshall G. Marquardt, 78, of Marinette, passed away December 11, 2018. Born September 27, 1940 son of the late Art and Minnie (Behnke) Marquardt he served in the U.S. Army. Marshall was diagnosed with MS in 1979 and later battled cancer. He was previously employed at G.M., Ansul, Marinette Marine, managed a gas station in Marinette, and later in life a dairy farmer. Marshall enjoyed playing poker at family gatherings, traveling, RVing, fishing, hunting, and pheasant hunting trips with his brothers in South Dakota. He was always tinkering and fixing things.
Marshall is survived by, 2 sons, Marshall D. (Deena) Marquardt, of Green Bay, and Gene Jay Marquardt of Oconto; 2 daughters, Gail (Dave) Berry of Fowlerville, MI. and Connie (Rodney) Gretzon of Pound; The mother of his children, Sonja Marquardt; his grandchildren, Amanda, Ashley, Jay, Sonja Lynn, Dylan, Derek, Bailey, Tanya, and Torey; Great-grandchildren, Payton, Liam, Weston, Teagan, Cohen, William, Lucas, Robert, and Gannon.
Also survived by 6 brothers, Marvin (Charmaine) of Pembine, Tom (Helen) of Peshtigo, Roger (Joan) of Wausaukee, Russell (Darlene) of Coleman, Jerry (Pat) of Beecher and Alfred of Porterfield; 2 sisters, Millie (Rollie) DeRosier of Peshtigo and Joan (Roger) Cudnohufsky of Dunbar; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by, 2 brothers, Harry and Arvid James; 2 sisters, Nola and Shirley Marquardt; and 2 a sisters-in-law, Val Marquardt and Ruth Marquardt.
Visitation will be held Sunday, Dec. 16, at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until time of services at 3:00 pm with Pastor Jonathan Zietlow officiating. Burial will take place in the spring of 2019 with military honors at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Arbor Village for keeping Marshall comfortable the last few months of his life, Unity Hospice especially his nurse Hailey and his social worker, Sheena.
