Dick Kramer, 78, of Peshtigo died unexpectedly Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home. Dick was born May 9, 1939 in Pound, the son of the late Richard and Ella (Payette) Kramer. As a young man, for several years he worked at Kramer Auto Body in Pound, then worked for more than three decades at Badger Paper Mills in Peshtigo. Dick married Joyce (Drees) Kramer on July 25, 1964 in Pound. He is a past member of the Peshtigo Lions Club, The Knights of Columbus, and the Badger Credit Union Board, and was a long-time member of St. Mary’s Church in Peshtigo.
Dick loved to fish, was a private pilot and a woodworker; and loved to take meticulous care of his lawn along the Peshtigo River. Dick and Joyce spent their winters in the desert sun in Arizona. He loved to read and root for the Packers and the Brewers.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce, and their two children, Darren and his wife Jill and their two children Abby and Sam; and Danae (Ciske) Kramer and her husband Nathan, and their daughter Mabel. Dick is also survived by his two sisters, Dorothy (Kramer) Kosnar and Patricia (Kramer) Maronek.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Ella and Richard Kramer, and in-laws Henry Drees, Verna (Borths) Drees and Nina (Loomis) Drees, and brother-in-law Ronald Drees.
Visitation will take place Friday, July 21 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Peshtigo from 9:00 a.m. until Mass at noon with Father Jess Berdol and Fr. Robert Karuhn concelebrating. Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home is serving the family.
