Rosalie Ann Nichols

Rosalie (Rosie) Ann Nichols, 73, of Peshtigo, WI passed away May 6, 2017 at Bay Area Medical Center with her loving husband by her side. Rosie was born in Norway, MI Nov. 16, 1943 to Edward & Evelyn Simkowski. “One-of-a-kind” Rosie`s kitchen was never closed, her door was always open, her thumb was “green” and her heart full of generosity. She devoted much of her time and energy as caregiver to family members and friends. Rosie graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1961. She became mother to 3 children that she loved with all her heart. On Nov. 16, 1989 she married the love of her life, Edward Nichols. Over their 28 years of marriage Rosie and Edward raised his 3 children, opened their door to many others and welcomed many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rosie is preceded in death by her parents. She leaves her loving memories with her husband Edward, her children Thomas Carlson, Jill Carlson, Shad Opolka, Jonathan Nichols, Theresa Nichols and Adam Nichols, along with many grandchildren and great grandchildren, her brother Robert Simkowski and sister Rebecca Tortelli. A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah`s Witnesses, 411 McAllister St. Marinette, WI on Saturday, May 20, at 1:30 pm followed by a small luncheon at City Park in Marinette. “The woods are lonely, dark and deep.
