Russell "Russ" T. Bauer

On January 15, 2018 Russell (Russ) Theodore Bauer, age 68, of Marinette was taken to be with our Heavenly Father after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
He served his country as a member of the Marines during the Vietnam war. He was a long time member of the Marinette County Board and Peshtigo Town Board  where he enjoyed serving his community. Other hobbies included hunting, fishing, wood working and spending time at his cabin in Silver Cliff.  Russ also loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  He enjoyed collecting coins, firearms and anything he could get a good deal on.
He worked at KSU for many years as a machinist before moving on to James River Paper Mill as a member of the maintenance department. He was there for many years before finally retiring from Great Lakes Pulp and Fiber in Marinette. After retirement he focused on his apple orchard which he took great pride in and also loved working on his farm.
He is survived by his wife, of 48 years, Margaret; a daughter Sheila (Daniel) Sleeter of Suring ; 2 sons,  Adam (Jill) Bauer of Milford, Kansas  and Jason (Abby) Bauer of Michigan City, Indiana; Grandchildren, Ashley, Christine, Colton, Emma, Alice and Emmit;  Great- Grandchildren, Trinity, Seth, and Dayton;  and a brother, Henry (Lynn) Bauer.  He was preceded in death by his mother Loretta.
Family will receive relatives and friends at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home, Saturday, Jan. 20th from 2:00 pm until time of services at 4:30 pm with Rev. Steve Fewell officiating.   In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in Russell's memory.
